Background: the packages for reform and innovation in medical education is running as the main national policy of Iran in the field of higher health education. Media is used as the powerful issue in implementing these policies during last 2 years. Author have tried to explain their experiences in this regard.
Method: key stakeholders were identified in the first step, the portal of education deputy of ministry of health was developed to make effective contact with them. Also digital newspaper and virtual social network were used for publishing news and event in the field of medical education.
Results: totally 851 news with average visiting rate of 500 were uploaded in portal since March 2015. Seventeen digital newspapers were published for about 20 thousand of faculty staff via email service. Each News also were shared in virtual social network with visiting rate of 1000 – 1500.
Conclusion: communication with stakeholders is one of the main factors in implementation of policies and acts. With this experience, it seems media can play a vital role in implementation of packages for reform and innovation in medical education. It is notable that contents of media should be more analytic in order to have more effectiveness in this regard.
