Background and Objective: This study aimed to identify the factors and indices for the transformation of Iran’s medical sciences university’s into the third-generation universities by the AHP technique.
Analysis method: This study is an applied-development research. The questionnaire was used for surveying and data collection. The results of this research can be useful for decision makers and managers so it is decision orientated. The statistical population of this study consists of 14 faculty members of medical science universities. In order to identify the components of third-generation universities, took place studies by the library and internet, including books, documents, papers and other research; then Experts review, modify and localize the questions through using the Delphi method. After the results of analyzing the data obtained from the questionnaires, for prioritizing the components, the AHP network analysis technique was used Expert Choice software.
Findings: The most important component of the third-generation university is leadership and management. Transition and communicating to the industry is a second priority, learning of entrepreneurship, the third priority, culture and structure, fourth priority, mission, policy and strategy of the university, fifth priority, evaluation, sixth priority, and ultimately the final priority is internationalization of universities.
Conclusion: According to the results, it is recommended to change the management’s attitude about the educational system, reform based on new strategies and communicating to the industry and entrepreneurship ecosystem in order to improve situation of innovation and entrepreneurship in the administrative system of Medical Science Universities.
