Abstract:
Background and Objective: Among the topics of humanities that are considered in the Holy Quran are topics related to the field of health and medical knowledge. The purpose of this study is to investigate the feasibility of teaching thematic interpretation of the Qur'an with a health-oriented approach in medical universities and to provide a general framework for compiling the topics of this course.
Methods and Materials: This applied research was conducted with a combined quantitative and qualitative approach in the academic year of 2019-2020 in Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. The statistical population included 24 lecturers on thematic interpretation of the Qur'an at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, specialists in the field of Islamic education and specialists in the field of health and familiar with the topics of the field of Islamic education. The study tool was a valid researcher-made questionnaire.
Results: Participants (100%) considered the presentation of thematic interpretation of the Holy Quran with an approach to health issues not only possible but also useful and necessary. The majority of participants (75%) believed that the course topics could be presented with a health-oriented approach. 100% of the participants considered it possible to present this approach in all four dimensions of health.
Conclusion: teaching the thematic interpretation course of the Holy Quran with a health-oriented approach in its four dimensions (spiritual, social, psychological and physical) is possible, useful and even necessary, and causes its dynamism and efficiency.
